David Brewer's journalistic and managerial experience spans newspapers, radio, television, and online, including more than 20 years with the BBC.
David was the managing editor of BBC News Online from 1997-2000, and part of the team responsible for launching the award-winning site.
He was then approached by CNN to set up CNN.com Europe, Middle East and Africa (now CNN International) and was responsible for the creation of CNNArabic.com in 2002.
He worked as an editorial consultant on the launch of Al Jazeera English in 2006.
David spends the majority of his time helping independent media operations in transition states, post-conflict countries and areas where freedom of expression is under threat. He focuses on helping independent media reach financial sustainability.
David continues to write about the issues faced by independent media in transition states.
