Somalia: Radio Shabelle is back on air - 2007/10/03 00:40
Radio Shabelle one of the leading media in Somali particularly in Mogadishu got its liberty. The radio was off air for the last 15 days.
Shabelle mainly focuses on the truth on the ground and devotedly works for its people. With permission from God and immense efforts from some notable individuals the radio resumed its activities. Some of the notable individuals including the overall general of Shabelle Media Network Abdimalik Yusuf Mahamud and Professor Mohamed Omar Talha the deputy speaker the parliament said in an interview that he is sharing the sympathy with the entire staffs of the radio Shabelle and he also added that he is very excited to hear Shabelle on air again.
In the early hours today at around 7:00am local time almost the entire employees converged at the morning shadow of Shabelle building and exchanged cuddles of nostalgia. Almost the whole population in the city and those of the regions expressed their emotion regarding the Shabelle on air again.
In the course of the close down the victims are not only the employees but also the displaced people beside the road leading to Afgoi. These internal displaced people are adhered to Shabelle for it truth.
