Head of Afghan Education Projects, Afghanistan (Ref 158159) Grade: Grade 10 (Attachment/Fixed Term Contract) Closing date for applications: 3 September 2007
To be responsible for the management and development of the portfolio of projects that makes up Afghan Education Projects. The post will be based in Kabul. Given the nature of the responsibilities and duties which go with it, the post-holder can expect to spend extended periods travelling both within and outside Afghanistan. The post holder will need to work very closely with the BBC World Service’s Asia Pacific Region and will be expected to contribute regularly to their editorial and managerial processes.

The Project Director will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating delivery of the Trust’s EIDHR-Dutch co-funded project in Palestine titled: “Support for the Palestinian Media Sector with Focus on Building Sustainable Mechanisms for Professional Development of Journalists and Media Professionals”. The project aims to increase the level of networking and dialogue between media professionals in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
