Claus Sølvsteen has been developing new media channels for the largest Danish media organisations since 1992. He is a partner in the Danish consulting company Peytz & Co. specializing in advising old media in using new media.
Claus also works as an advisor for independent media in transition countries, post-conflict countries and areas where freedom of expression and media freedom is under threat.
As such Claus has been helping media from Russia, China, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Nigeria, Egypt and other countries.
Amongst his clients are the Swedish Helsinki Committee, BBC World Trust, MDLF and International Media Support.
Claus set out as a journalist covering Information Technology for the Danish Newspaper Politiken. He was the first Dane to have a private e-mail address (in 1991), he launched Politiken.dk in 1995 and worked as a managing editor for Politiken for many years until he left for World Online / Tiscali where he developed website strategies for a number of country-operations within Europe.
In 2002 Claus joined Peytz & Co.
